Executive Communicator of the Year

This award recognizes an executive/professional who has had a significant impact in the past year (October 2016 – October 2017). The recipient must:

  • Serve in a C-Suite leadership position in a corporate, public or non-profit organization
  • Advance their organization through demonstrated ongoing support for communications and PR within the organization
  • Support innovative approaches to communications and public relations
  • Demonstrate transparency and model good communication skills
  • Empower public relations professionals to be their best

Degerness Award for Excellence in Public Relations

This award:

  • Honors the outstanding, demonstrated long-term commitment to the public relations profession through community service, community involvement, nurturing and growing careers of fellow chapter members.
  • Is a lifetime achievement award given periodically by the chapter when a professional capably meets the requirements.
  • Is given to an honoree who must be a member in good standing of the Greater Spokane PRSA Chapter

Communications Professional of the Year

This award recognizes an outstanding communications/PR professional who has had a significant impact in the past year (October 2016 – October 2017). The recipient must:

  • Demonstrate outstanding leadership/management skills, innovation and/or creativity in a project or program that was challenging and/or difficult in nature.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and use of sound PR practices as evidenced by professional accomplishments.
  • Represent the best in PR as an outstanding example of the management function that establishes mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and the public on whom its success or failure depends.
  • Demonstrate superb use of each of the four components of the PR process: research, planning, execution and evaluation.
  • Contributes to public relations and/or the greater Spokane community through mentoring and/or volunteerism

Rising PR Star of the Year

This award:

  • Honors budding PR leaders and creative practitioners.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the PR profession through career achievements, volunteerism and dedication to improving the credibility of PR as a whole.
  • Must honor a practicing communications professional who entered the profession in the last 5 years.

Nomination Process

Complete and submit this form by October 12, 2017. Attachments such as resume, up to three letters of recommendation and samples of work are welcome, but not necessary.

Nominee must be available to attend and speak at 2017 Communication Leadership Awards breakfast on November 2, 2017. Please, no self-nominations.
