State of the Chapter Meeting

Chapter members, as well as prospective members, met to hear new president Amy Aiello give our 2024 State of Chapter. She, and other leaders, shared updates on the chapter’s progress and upcoming events and discussed ideas for the future. A small committee was born to host a regional conference in 2025. The event took place at Brick West Brewing Co.

Happy Hour + Teen/Kid Closet

The PRSA Greater Spokane Chapter met and learned how we as a community can help brighten the days of our most at-risk kids for Christmas (and beyond) through the Teen & Kid Closet, a free clothing store for children of all ages who are currently in foster care, experiencing homelessness or poverty.

Happy Hour

In addition to fun, relationship building, and cold beverages, Visit Spokane’s public relations manager Kate Hudson, a fellow PRSA member, shared highlights from its recent annual meeting, gave some tips on successful media pitching, and shared more about Visit Spokane’s plans for celebrating the 50-year anniversary of Expo ’74 next summer! The event took place at Uprise Brewing Co.

Mingle with the Media

Our annual Mingle with the Media was a casual evening of networking with some of our local news anchors, radio hosts, editors, producers, and publishers. Our goal with this event was to increase familiarity and promote collaboration between PR practicioners and media. This event took place at the Highball at Northern Quest.

APR 101 & Happy Hour

In this APR 101 course, Lisa Cargill, corporate communications program manager at Itron, Inc. explained what the Accreditation in Public Relations is, why public relations professionals should go through with it, what the time and cost investments may
be, and much more. This event took place at The Hive. Afterward, we had a social hour at Bennidito’s Brewpub. More info here.
